The promises of God are like precious flowers scattered through a garden. The Lord would have us linger over them, looking closely into them, taking in their loveliness, & appreciating the favor that God has bestowed upon us by making such rich provisions for our needs. Were it not for contemplation of the promises of God, we could not understand the gracious love & compassion of God toward us or realize how rich were the treasures prepared for those who love Him. He would have the soul encouraged to repose in faith upon Him, the only sufficiency of the human agent.
We are to send our petitions through the darkest clouds that Satan may cast over us, & let our faith pierce to the throne of God encircled by the rainbow of promise, the assurance that God is true, that in Him is no variableness neither shadow of turning. …God scatters His blessings all along our path to brighten our heavenward journey....
We are to come before the mercy seat with reverence, calling up to our mind the promises that God has given, contemplating the goodness of God, & offering up thankful praises for His unchangeable love. We are not to trust in our finite prayers, but in the word of our heavenly Father, in His assurance of His love for us. Believing the promise of His unchanging love, we press our petitions to the throne of grace.
Wait upon the Lord; He has made the promise & is back of the assurance.... He who hungers & thirsts after righteousness will be filled. HP 125
It is not enough to say, "I believe;" we must exercise the living faith that claims the promises of God as our own, knowing that they are sure & steadfast. The enemy of our souls would be glad to steal away these precious promises from us, & cast darkness before our eyes, so that we should not be able to appropriate the good things that God means that we shall have. God is waiting to do great things for us as soon as we come into a right relation with him; but if we hold ourselves in doubt & unbelief, the enemy can keep the control of our minds, & intercept the promises of God. Unbelief always results in a great loss to our souls. It was said concerning one place where Christ visited, "He did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief." Christ cannot work in our behalf if we do not manifest faith in him. We should train our souls to have faith in God. …it is our privilege to walk in the light, as Christ is in the light. He is at our right hand to strengthen us, & he tells us that greater works than he has done shall we do, because he goes to the Father. He is ready to impart unto us the rich blessing & grace of God. 1888 119
O that we might gather up our forces of faith, & plant our feet on the rock Christ Jesus! You should believe that he will keep you from falling. The reason why you do not have more faith in the promises of God, is that your minds are separated from God, & the enemy meant it should be so. He has cast his shadow between us & our Saviour, that we may not discern what Christ is to us, or what he may be. The enemy does not desire us to understand what a comfort we shall find in Christ. We have only just begun to get a little glimmering of what faith is; for it is hard for those who have been absorbed in looking at dark pictures of unbelief, to see anything else save darkness. May God help us to gather up the jewels of his promises, & deck memory's hall with the gems of his word. We should be armed with the promises of God. Our souls should be barricaded with them. When Satan comes in with his darkness, & seeks to fill my soul with gloom, I repeat some precious promise of God. 1888 559
How are we to know that the words of Christ are abiding in us? How are we to understand them? It is by appropriating his promises to our souls that we feed upon Christ. RH Sept. 27, 1892
If we educated our souls to have more faith, more love, greater patience, a more perfect trust in our heavenly Father, we would have more peace & happiness as we pass through the conflicts of this life. The Lord is not pleased to have us fret & worry ourselves out of the arms of Jesus. He is the only source of every grace, the fulfilment of every promise, the realization of every blessing... Our pilgrimage would indeed be lonely were it not for Jesus. …Let us cherish His words, believe His promises, repeat them by day & meditate upon them in the night season, & be happy. 2MCP 468
They should turn the mind from self, to dwell upon the mercy & goodness of God & to recount his promises, & then simply believe that he will fulfill his word. We are not to trust in our faith, but in the promises of God....
Darkness & discouragement will sometimes come upon the soul, & threaten to overwhelm us; but we should not cast away our confidence. We must keep the eye fixed on Jesus, feeling or no feeling. We should seek to faithfully perform every known duty, & then calmly rest in the promises of God.
At times a deep sense of our unworthiness will send a thrill of terror through the soul; but this is no evidence that God has changed toward us, or we toward God. No effort should be made to rein the mind up to a certain intensity of emotion. We may not feel today the peace & joy which we felt yesterday; but we should by faith grasp the hand of Christ, & trust him as fully in the darkness as in the light. RH May 3, 1881
We are not to believe because we feel or see that God hears us. We are to trust to the promise of God. …Every petition enters into the heart of God when we come believing. We have not faith enough. We should look upon our heavenly Father as more willing to help us than an earthly parent is to help his child. Why not trust him? “He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?” ST May 7, 1896
If impatient words are spoken to you, never reply in the same spirit.
…Let mind & heart be stored with God’s promises. If you are ill-treated or wrongfully accused, instead of returning an angry answer, repeat to yourself the precious promises: GW 475-476
But he who is earnestly seeking for holiness of heart & life, delights in the law of God, & mourns only that he falls so far short of meeting its requirements.
Many shrink from such a life as our Saviour lived. They feel that it requires too great a sacrifice to imitate the Pattern, to bring forth fruit in good works, & then patiently endure the pruning of God that they may bring forth more fruit. But when the Christian regards himself as only a humble instrument in the hands of Christ, & endeavors to faithfully perform every duty, relying upon the help which God has promised, then he will wear the yoke of Christ & find it easy; then he will bear burdens for Christ, & pronounce them light. He can look up with courage & with confidence, & say, “I know whom I have believed, & am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him.”
We no longer depend upon the experience of others, for we have the witness in ourselves.
The more we contemplate the character of Christ, & the more we experience of his saving power, the more keenly shall we realize our own weakness & imperfection, & the more earnestly shall we look to him as our strength & our Redeemer. We have no power in ourselves to cleanse the soul-temple from its defilement; but as we repent of our sins against God, & seek pardon through the merits of Christ, he will impart that faith that works by love & purifies the heart.
It is not only the privilege but the duty of every Christian to maintain a close union with Christ, & to have a rich experience in the things of God. Then his life will be fruitful in good works. ...
Every Christian may enjoy the blessing of sanctification.
Paul would not have appealed to them to do that which was impossible. Unity is the sure result of Christian perfection. RH Apr. 26, 1881
To blot the promises of God from the Word would be like blotting the sun from the sky. There would then be nothing to gladden our experience. God has placed the promises in His Word to lead us to have faith in Him. In these promises He draws back the veil from eternity, giving us a glimpse of the far more exceeding & eternal weight of glory which awaits the overcomer. Let us, then, rest in God. ML 338
We need more faith. When we have before us these simple records of Christ's labours & his promises, why should we not have a large increase of faith? Only by a constant exercise of intelligent faith, a faith that grows continually, can we properly develop in Christian experience. If we will encourage that faith that grasps the promises of God, these promises will be fulfilled in our behalf. RH Dec. 16, 1909
We should educate the mind so that we can hold communion with God constantly. We must learn to glance upward in sincere desire, sending a prayer to Heaven in all places & under all circumstances. You may have that faith that will place your hand in the hand of Jesus, & by faith you may keep hold of him. You should keep your mind filled with the precious promises of God. As Christians we do not make half enough of the promises, for God will never fail in any good thing which he has promised. We should take these promises singly, view them critically in all their richness, meditate upon them until the soul is burdened with their greatness, & delighted with their strength & power. I am so sorry that we deprive ourselves of the blessing we might have, & it is simply because we do not cherish the thought that the promises of God are for us. God has left them in this word for us, & we should dig for them as for hidden treasures. Why are we so easily satisfied with little flashes of light when there is a heaven of illumination for us? We drink at shallow streams, when there is a great fountain just above us, if we will only rise a little higher in the pathway of faith. Our natures must be raised from their earthliness, they must be kindled & purified in the upper brightness of God's divine presence. But you must remember that only those who obey the commandments of God through his grace have a right to appropriate the promises written for the consolation of the children of God. ST Apr. 14, 1890
When we go to Him for wisdom or grace, we are not to look to ourselves to see if he has given us a special feeling as an assurance that he has fulfilled his word. Feeling is no criterion. Great evils have resulted when Christians have followed feeling. Satan can give feelings & impressions, & those who take these as their guide will surely be led astray. How do I know that Jesus hears my prayer? I know it by his promise. He says he will hear the needy when they cry unto him, & I believe his word. ST May 15, 1884
We should study the Bible more that we may become familiar with the promises of God; then when Satan comes in, flooding the soul with his temptations, as he surely will, we may meet him with, "It is written." We may be shut in by the promises of God, which will be as a wall of fire about us. We want to know how to exercise faith. Faith "is the gift of God,” ...It is the hand by which the soul takes hold of the strength of the Infinite. …Faith plants itself on the promises of God, & claims them as surety that he will do just as he said he would. Jesus comes to the sinful, helpless, needy soul, & says, "What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, & ye shall have them." ST May 22, 1884
The promises are ample; why not accept them just as they read? ST Nov. 18, 1886
We draw from God's promises all that peace, that comfort, that hope that will develop in us the fruits of peace, joy, & faith. And by bringing these promises into our own life we bring them always into the lives of others. Then let us appropriate these promises to ourselves... They are to awaken our hope & expectation, & lead us to a firm faith & reliance upon God. They are to strengthen us in trouble & teach us precious lessons of trust in God. He in these precious promises draws back from eternity & gives us a glimpse of the far more exceeding & eternal weight of glory. Let us then be quiet in God. Let us calmly trust in Him & praise Him... UL 15
Now, do not worry at all about the future. Do your best without ever overdoing & go forward hopeful & courageous in God, saying, He careth for us.
Whatever burdens lay heavily, cast them on the Lord. He that keepeth Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps. Repose in God. …We need to cherish faith. …We must reveal a sense of a present Saviour, a firm trust that Jesus is at the helm, & that He will see the noble vessel safe into harbor.
We are to know that it is impossible to save ourselves or any soul. We have no perishing. Jesus, our Redeemer, is the Saviour. We are only His instrumentalities & dependent every moment upon God. 7LtMs, Lt 19e, 1892
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong & of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. Joshua 1:9
After the passing of the time in 1844, a number of brethren & sisters were assembled in a meeting. All were very sad, for the disappointment had been sore. Presently a man came in, crying, “Courage in the Lord, brethren; courage in the Lord!” This he repeated again & again, till every face was aglow, & every voice lifted in praise to God.
Today I say to every worker for the Master, “Courage in the Lord!”
Some look always at the objectionable & discouraging features, & therefore discouragement overtakes them. They forget that the heavenly universe is waiting to make them agencies of blessing to the world; & that the Lord Jesus is a never-failing storehouse from which human beings may draw strength & courage. There is no need for despondency & apprehension. The time will never come when the shadow of Satan will not be cast athwart our pathway. Thus the enemy seeks to hide the light shining from the Sun of Righteousness. But our faith should pierce this shadow. FLB 156
…will you, without delay, lay down your self-sufficiency, & at the cross of Christ obtain wholeness of restoration? God help you to be kind, condescending, courteous. Open your hearts to the softening, subduing influence of the Holy Spirit, the light of the Sun of Righteousness, that radiates from the throne of God. 17LtMs, Lt 55, 1902
Hope & courage are essential to perfect service for God. These are the fruit of faith. Despondency is sinful & unreasonable. God is able & willing “more abundantly” to bestow upon His servants the strength they need for test & trial....
For the disheartened there is a sure remedy—faith, prayer, work. Faith & activity will impart assurance & satisfaction that will increase day by day.... In the darkest days, when appearances seem most forbidding, fear not. Have faith in God. PK 164
Christ did not fail, neither was He discouraged, & His followers are to manifest a faith of the same enduring nature.... ML 324
God wants every one of us to have salvation. “I will make a man more precious than gold,” He declares, “even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir.” As the stones in their rough state are taken from the quarry, & prepared for the building of which they are to form a part, so God’s people are taken from the world & prepared for a place in His everlasting kingdom. Those who have rough, harsh traits of character must be brought into God’s workshop, that they may be prepared by polishing for a place in His temple....
We should never rest satisfied with present attainments. If we put mind & heart into the work of reaching God’s ideal for us, if we go to Christ, the mighty Helper, for aid, He will give us the very assistance that we need. He will bestow on us the very power that will enable us to be victorious…
We ought to know more of Jesus tomorrow than we do today. We ought to be constantly growing in grace & in the knowledge of Christ, advancing heavenward step by step. Let us keep our eyes fixed upon Jesus. By beholding Him, we shall be changed into His likeness. But if we keep thinking & talking of our trials, we shall lose sight of heaven. Let us say with Paul, “Our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding & eternal weight of glory, while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things that are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.” 4LtMs, Lt 11, 1885
The silver & gold of earth are purified & tested by fire, & the faith of God’s people which is of more value than silver & gold will be tested, in order that its worth may be made apparent. 9LtMs, Lt 48, 1894
Christ impressed upon His disciples that they were to ask God in prayer for the gift of the Holy Spirit, & then, placing themselves in an attitude to receive, they would receive all the gifts comprehended in the gift of the Spirit. The work of the Holy Spirit is to purify the heart, uniting it with the divine nature. The Spirit changes the heart, bringing it into conformity with its own pure nature. 13LtMs, Lt 29, 1898
Now is the opportunity for us, through repentance toward God, to wash our robes of character & make them white in the blood of the Lamb, that we may stand in white raiment before the throne of God. We are to wash our robes of character & have our names registered in the Lamb’s Book of Life; …
We want you to live for the future immortal life, & we want you to decide, “As for me & my house, we will serve the Lord.” Now is the time for you to give yourselves without reserve to Jesus. Be determined that you will have Christ at the loss of everything else. The very obstacles & difficulties you meet here are to strengthen your faith by overcoming these obstacles, & every victory gained is registered in the Books of Heaven. 4LtMs, Ms 6a, 1886
Those who hold fast their faith unto the end will come forth from the furnace of trial as fine gold seven times purified…. When in trouble, remember that faith tried in the furnace of affliction is more precious than gold tried with fire. Remember that there is One watching every movement, to see when the last particle of dross is taken away from your character. UL 293
God will work out His own purpose, taking the human agent into co-partnership with the great firm of salvation, & making of him all that He has promised in accordance with His Word: “I will make a man more precious than gold, even than the golden wedge of Ophir.” 13LtMs, Ms 50, 1898
Amid the rough waters & the storm & the fog, I felt that Jesus was never nearer to me, never more precious. My faith reposed in God, however dark the surroundings. The faith of the believer is like the ship’s compass. The ship may be struggling with the waves & by the tempest, tossed by the everrestless sea; yet the compass keeps its position, doing its work, maintaining its level amid plunging & tossing, pointing to the pole. I felt that my soul could stay upon God whatever comes, calm waves or boisterous. We may be driven by fierce winds, the fog like a pillar of cloud may surround us, but my soul had comfort in God. My faith like the compass ever turned steadily to my Redeemer, to Him who can rebuke the stormy waters & say, Peace be still. “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee: because he trusteth in Thee.” 4LtMs, Ms 17, 1885
In the heart of Christ, where reigned perfect harmony with God, there was perfect peace. He was never elated by applause or dejected by censure or disappointment. Amid the greatest opposition & the most cruel treatment He was still of good courage…
True happiness is found ... in learning of Christ.... Those who take Christ at His Word & surrender the soul to His keeping, their lives to His ordering, will find peace & quietude. Nothing of the world can make them sad when Jesus makes them glad by His presence. ML 181
I entreat of every one to build upon the Rock, Christ Jesus. Then you will not be tossed with temptations, or left to drift upon the sea of opinion. Christ stretches out His hand to save every one who will grasp it. He will hold you if you will consent to be helped. 12LtMs, Lt 118, 1897
There will be peace, constant peace, flowing into the soul, for the rest is found in perfect submission to Jesus Christ. OHC 98
Paul carried with him the atmosphere of heaven. All who associated with him felt the influence of his union with Christ. The fact that his own life exemplified the truth he proclaimed gave convincing power to his preaching. Here lies the power of truth. The unstudied, unconscious influence of a holy life is the most convincing sermon that can be given in favor of Christianity. Argument, even when unanswerable, may provoke only opposition; but a godly example has a power that is impossible wholly to resist. LHU 317
The Lord declares that He will be honored by those who draw nigh to Him,… COL 173
I know that the Lord is very nigh to give you victory, & I say to you, Be helped, be strengthened, be lifted out of & away from the dark dungeon of unbelief. WGD 83
Nothing is apparently more helpless, yet really more invincible, than the soul that feels its nothingness, & relies on the merits of the Saviour. By prayer, by the study of His word, by faith in His abiding presence, the weakest of human beings may live in contact with the living Christ, & He will hold them by a hand that will never let go. MH 182
He who has chosen Christ has joined himself to a power that no array of human wisdom or strength can overthrow. “Fear thou not; for I am with thee,” He declares; “be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of My righteousness.” 8T 39
Jesus says, “I have called thee by thy name; thou art Mine.” ...
Jesus knows us individually & is touched with the feeling of our infirmities. He knows the very house in which we live. He has at times given directions to His servants to go to a certain street in a certain city, to such a house, to find one of His sheep. LHU 203
Every man & woman has had the ransom money paid by Jesus Christ. OHC 42
You desire to please the Lord, & you can do this by believing His promises. He is waiting to take you into a harbor of gracious experience,… 2MCP 640
God has a church upon the earth, who are His chosen people, who keep His commandments. He is leading, not stray offshoots, not one here & one there, but a people.
There is no need to doubt, to be fearful that the work will not succeed. God is at the head of the work, & He will set everything in order. If matters need adjusting at the head of the work, God will attend to that, & work to right every wrong. Let us have faith that God is going to carry the noble ship which bears the people of God safely into port.
When I voyaged from Portland, Maine, to Boston, many years ago, a storm came upon us, & the great waves dashed us to & fro. The chandeliers fell, & the trunks were rolled from side to side, like balls. The passengers were frightened, & many were screaming, waiting in expectation of death.
After a while the pilot came on board. The captain stood near the pilot as he took the wheel, & expressed fear about the course in which the ship was directed. “Will you take the wheel?” asked the pilot. The captain was not ready to do that, for he knew that he lacked experience. Then some of the passengers grew uneasy, & said they feared the pilot would dash them upon the rocks. “Will you take the wheel?” asked the pilot; but they knew that they could not manage the wheel.
When you think that the work is in danger, pray, “Lord stand at the wheel. Carry us through the perplexity. Bring us safely into port.” Have we not reason to believe that the Lord will bring us through triumphantly?
You cannot with your finite minds understand the working of all the providences of God. Let God take care of His own work. FLB 282
In this confession of faith the Hebrew youth were guided by duty & conscience. They had unquestioning faith in God, & they were determined to honor Him at all cost. Standing before the angry king, with the image in sight & the sound of the entrancing music in their ears, they thought of the promise made to the prophet Isaiah more than one hundred years before: “Fear not; for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name: thou art mine. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; & through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee; when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned, neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.” 16LtMs, Lt 132, 1901
The Lord will work mightily in behalf of those who stand for the right. He who walked with the Hebrews in the fiery furnace will be with His followers wherever they are. In the time of trouble His chosen ones will stand unmoved. In their behalf Jehovah will reveal Himself as a “God of gods,” able to save to the uttermost those who put their trust in Him. SS 266
Often our trials are such that they seem almost unbearable, & without help from God they are indeed unbearable. Unless we rely upon him, we shall sink under the burden of responsibilities that bring only sadness & grief. But if we make Christ our dependence, we shall not sink under trial. When all seems dark & unexplainable, we are to trust in His love; we must repeat the words that Christ has spoken to our souls, “What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.” 10LtMs, Lt 33, 1895
After the saints are changed to immortality, & are caught up together, with Jesus, receive their harps, crowns, … & enter the City, Jesus & the saints sit in judgment. The books are opened, the book of life & the book of death; the book of life contains the good deeds of the saints, & the book of death contains the evil deeds of the wicked. These books were compared with the Statute book, the Bible, & according to that they were judged. The saints in unison with Jesus pass their judgment upon the wicked dead…. This, I saw, was the work of the saints with Jesus, in the Holy City before it descends to the earth, through the 1000 years. Then at the close of the 1000 years, Jesus, & the angels, & all the saints with him, leaves the Holy City, & while he is descending to the earth with them, the wicked dead are raised, ExV 33
But the rest of the dead lived not again until the 1000 years were finished. Revelation 20:5
And then there arises one long protracted wail of agony, as they flee to hide from the presence of the King of kings & Lord of lords. EW 292
It is at the close of the 1000 years that Jesus stands upon the Mount of Olives, & the Mount parts asunder, & it becomes a mighty plain, & those who flee at that time are the wicked, that have just been raised. Then the Holy City comes down & settles on the plain. ExV 33
Then Jesus & the holy angels, accompanied by all the saints, again go to the city, & the bitter lamentations & wailings of the doomed wicked fill the air. Then I saw that Satan again commenced his work. He passed around among his subjects, & made the weak & feeble strong, & told them that he & his angels were powerful. He pointed to the countless millions who had been raised. There were mighty warriors & kings who were well skilled in battle & who had conquered kingdoms. And there were mighty giants & valiant men who had never lost a battle. Then he looks over the vast army, & tells them that the company in the city is small & feeble, & that they can go up & take it, & cast out its inhabitants, & possess its riches & glory themselves.
Satan succeeds in deceiving them, & all immediately begin to prepare themselves for battle. There are many skillful men in that vast army, & they construct all kinds of implements of war. Then with Satan at their head, the multitude move on. ..to the Holy City. …and this vast army surround it, & place themselves in battle array, expecting a fierce conflict. EW 293
While Satan was rallying his army, the saints were in the City, beholding the beauty & glory of the Paradise of God. Jesus was at their head, leading them. All at once the lovely Saviour was gone from our company; but soon we heard his lovely voice, saying, “Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.” We gathered about Jesus, & just as he closed the gates of the City, the curse was pronounced upon the wicked. The gates were shut. Then the saints used their wings & mounted to the top of the wall of the City. Jesus was also with them; his crown looked brilliant & glorious. It was a crown within a crown, seven in number. The crowns of the saints were of the most pure gold, decked with stars. Their faces shone with glory, for they were in the express image of Jesus; & as they arose, & moved all together to the top of the City, I was enraptured with the sight. ExV 34
Jesus speaks with majesty, saying, “Behold, ye sinners, the reward of the just! And behold, My redeemed, the reward of the wicked!” The vast multitude behold the glorious company on the walls of the city. And as they witness the splendor of their glittering crowns & see their faces radiant with glory, reflecting the image of Jesus, & then behold the unsurpassed glory & majesty of the King of kings & Lord of lords, their courage fails. A sense of the treasure & glory which they have lost rushes upon them, & they realize that the wages of sin is death. They see the holy, happy company whom they have despised, clothed with glory, honor, immortality, & eternal life, while they are outside the city with every mean & abominable thing.
Satan rushes into the midst of his followers & tries to stir up the multitude to action. But fire from God out of heaven is rained upon them, & the great men, & mighty men, the noble, the poor & miserable, are all consumed together. EW 294
This is the second death. Revelation 20:14
I saw that some were quickly destroyed, while others suffered longer. They were punished according to the deeds done in the body. Some were many days consuming…
Satan & his angels suffered long. Satan bore not only the weight & punishment of his own sins, but also of the sins of the redeemed host, which had been placed upon him; & he must also suffer for the ruin of souls which he had caused. Then I saw that Satan & all the wicked host were consumed, & the justice of God was satisfied; & all the angelic host, & all the redeemed saints, with a loud voice said, “Amen!”
...I then looked & saw the fire which had consumed the wicked, burning up the rubbish & purifying the earth. EW 294-295
The broken ragged mountains melted with fervent heat, the atmosphere, also, & all the stubble was consumed. ExV 35
Again I looked & saw the earth purified. There was not a single sign of the curse. The broken, uneven surface of the earth now looked like a level, extensive plain. God’s entire universe was clean, & the great controversy was forever ended. Wherever we looked, everything upon which the eye rested was beautiful & holy. And all the redeemed host, old & young, great & small, cast their glittering crowns at the feet of their Redeemer, & prostrated themselves in adoration before Him, & worshiped Him that liveth forever & ever. The beautiful new earth, with all its glory, was the eternal inheritance of the saints. The kingdom & dominion, & the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, was then given to the saints of the Most High, who were to possess it forever, even forever & ever. EW 295
